Okay, so my Fiance just turned 21 this weekend and I wasn’t able to be there to celebrate with him. It completely sucks missing such huge events in each others lives- more than just birthdays, some miss anniversaries, graduations, and some even the birth of their own child, but that’s just part of being in a military relationship. How do we make the most of being apart on such important days? We can focus on the positive rather than the negative. I know, I know, it’s hard to think of anything positive when the most important person in your life isn’t there for such an important day, but just look at the glass half full instead of half empty. Maybe you will cry about it to get it out of your system, but after that you need to completely focus on the positive. You’ll be able to see them, you’ll get to celebrate together when you finally get to see each other, just the fact that you have each other in your lives should outweigh all the negative.
I made a care-package for his 21st birthday that could’ve been A LOT better, but due to monetary and time restrictions it wasn’t all that it could’ve been. I will make it up to him when he comes down to visit for the holidays! Nonetheless, I still worked hard on it and will show it you.

So you can’t really tell much of what’s going on within the care-package from this picture, but here are the items it contained:
-A wrapped warm tribal hoodie
-A cute little R2D2 candy dispenser
-Gummy bears (his favorite)
-A souvenir shot glass from our city (It’s a must for a 21st b-day!)
-A super personalized birthday card
It’s not much, but it’s something. What matters is that you actually put in the time and effort to make their day just that more special. I promised him a cute little birthday cake and nice dinner when he comes to visit in like a week and a half!
